'Everybody dies, but very few people actually live.' Who knew an ad for a type of paint could make us feel so emotional and want to conquer all our fears at the same time? Well the new Dulex ad for its Weathershield paint has done just that.
It brings us on an emotional roller coaster, showing us the stories of three older people who all have one thing in common – sea swimming. It's brilliantly titled, 'The Invincibles' and it's easy to see why: they're all fearless. All of these older people brave the Irish elements and take the risk that goes along with swimming in dangerous waters – and they all love it.
If anything the message people can take from this is: feel the fear and do it anyway. The entire ad highlights the bravery of the human spirit and ends with a seriously poignant line, 'I don't want to die in my pyjamas, I don't want to die in my boots, I want to die in my togs.'
I'm not crying, there's just something in my eye....
