It's been nearly a quarter of century since Friends aired for the first time (we'll just let that sink in for a minute) and although the iconic show wrapped up in 2004, it's had so many reruns on television that it's hard to believe there are still people out there who have never actually seen it.
Netflix kicked off the new year by adding every series of the 90s sitcom to its online selection, introducing a barrage of people to the show for the first time.
It's been so long, we can't actually remember our reaction when we started watching Friends, except that we thought it was funny and we howled when there was scene with the lads in their high school days.
We weren't the only ones who thought it was gas that people have never been acquainted the gang.
The amount of people watching Friends for the first time ever is shocking. Like what have you done with your life?! #friends #Netflix

I'm absolutely loving the reactions from the new genaration watching #Friends for the first time on #Netflix. We had to wait MONTHS to find out what happened after Ross said Rachel. YOU DONT KNOW HOW LUCKY YOU ALL ARE!

I'm so happy that there was no social media when Friends was being aired!
People who are watching it for the first time are bringing up insane subjects.
Just enjoy it. All of the characters are fantastic and it's the best TV show ever!#Friends #Netflix— Nima Zarei (@n_ii_ma) January 10, 2018
All these people tweeting about watching Friends for the first time and have all of these issues with the characters etc...you should’ve stayed not watching it. We don’t need your shitty views.

Some questioned the realism of the show.

There’s an episode of Friends where a group of 26 year olds are shocked that they drank 5 bottles of wine between 7 people over an entire evening and honestly that’s way more unrealistic than the massive apartment thing.

One viewer was surprised at how offensive it was but ultimately didn't care.
Watching #Friends for first time on #Netflix and wow is it not politically correct! Funny shit. Will keep watching!

And how needy Rachel was.

Friends TV show is a documentary about a girl who runs away on her wedding and then sabotages every relationship of her closest friend so she can satisfy her need for constant attention. #Friends #Netflix

This lad had the exact same reaction we did nearly 20 years ago.

Some viewers, were NOT on board with Dr. Gellar.

Watching through Friends for the first time. Ross is a monster. What is Rachel seeing in him
— Bee Wakefield (@Bee_Wakefield) January 5, 2018
I'm watching Friends all the way through for the first time and Ross is an absolute ass. WHY DO PEOPLE LIKE HIM?
— Becky ? (@Blupye) January 4, 2018
But one fan was quick to shut down their disdain of the funniest character.

If I see one more tweet from someone who is just watching friends for the first time on Netflix saying they hate Ross. You are a pile of trash
— pyro (@lazxretto) January 11, 2018
no offence but Monica Geller deserves Rachel Green level appreciation and attention. pic.twitter.com/KbBKF9BIhR
— minnie (@minmakesmusic) January 4, 2018
The age-old Ross and Rachel debate was still the same.
I'm watching friends for the first time and for fucks sake can we just end the Ross/Rachel thing either way? Even when he's getting married to someone else we gotta do it?

watching Friends for the first time and Ross and Rachel were def on a break. I don’t know why people argue it was obviously a break

One viewer appreciated the fact that Monica liked to keep a clean home. "You can eat cookies. In the sink."
Watching Friends for the first time ever. Like Chandler and Rachel, Hate Ross, Joey creeps me out, Phoebe's fun in a scary way. And why does everyone mock Monica for trying to keep a clean, organized home?

And nipples.
