I'm certainly not the first person to make fun of the gleaming travesty that constitutes reality television and I hopefully, excluding the increasing possibility of civilisation being destroyed by some disastrous thermonuclear conflict, won't be the last.
It must seem incredibly frustrating for makers of intensely produced and budget-heavy shows, who've poured months, if not years, of work and passion into a project, to see its ratings utterly pale in comparison to something like Celebs Go Dating, a show where the adult male Joey Essex tries to seduce and ultimately impregnate any living organism within a 30-mile radius of his home.
That said though, they're pretty amazing. Given that each reality show needs to have a unique hook, television companies have thrown a lot of crap at the wall over the years to see what might stick. As such, we've compiled a list of some pretty mental reality television shows, some of which are real, some of which are fake. See if you can guess which ones actually exist.
