Everybody's favourite sordid cartoon will officially be returning after some initial hesitation to renew the series by creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland.
The cult show has been running for three seasons so far, with each season being some 10 episodes long. This order is for more than double the total number of episodes that have already been made.
The 'long-term' deal has no announced time-frame attached to it, so it is still unclear when a new series will go to air, or indeed how the number of episodes will be divided up between series.

While large parts of the fandom around Rick and Morty comprise some of the worst aspects of modern humanity, it is a largely fantastic show and this is thunderingly good news indeed for fans of stellar comedy.
