Tonight's RTÉ Investigates: Universities Unchallenged, will surely be a must-watch for students across the country as they delve into how some universities have been 'wasting public money' while also increasing student fees.
Over the last 12 months, RTÉ Investigates have been tracking spending on a whopper 150,000 public spending transactions. Tonight's episode is delving into "significant findings" from DIT, UL, UCC and NUIG. The Higher Education Authority (HEA) have tried to examine the financial management of these colleges but have been "met with stiff resistance".
Something you may not know is most universities actually have separate trusts and foundations, this means they can hide away money which is technically separate from their financial accounts. If you're an Irish student, it's important to know what's going on with your own university.
