'Saoirse Impersonation Just Can't Get Any Worse' - Aer Lingus Bites Back At SNL Sketch

Saoirse Ronan appeared as a guest host on Saturday Night Live this weekend and her attempts at teaching America how to pronounce her name through song, was largely well-received.

However, another sketch in which she features as an air hostess for Aer Lingus, crashed and burned in spectacular fashion. If you haven't yet seen it, just imagine every Irish stereotype ever. We're wearing aran jumpers, potatoes are the only thing on the menu and a pack of dogs take over the plane, a concept which totally went over people's heads.

I think Saoirse Ronan is great- brilliant actress and seems bang on. The "Welcome to Hell" bit on SNL was ? But the Aer Lingus sketch was *awful*. Aran jumpers, potato jokes, Americans doing stage Oirish accents? Definitely expected more from SNL than that old shtick.

While the SNL @AerLingus sketch last night with Saoirse Ronan featured dated racial stereotypes and jaded accents, it does beg the question. Is @AerLingus going to allow us take dogs into the cabin from now on??

Aer Lingus were completely on the ball and responded to the sketch earlier today, mimicking a criticism Trump previously made about the show.
