After a hugely successful release at the beginning of January, Sex Education is now returning for a second season on Netflix.
The first season was only released a mere four weeks ago, and stats show that it was streamed to over 40 million households. The show captures the essence of the awkward teenage years in all its glory, holding nothing back. At all. Seriously.
The show was so popular, that only after a couple of weeks being on the streaming waves that is Netflix, they announced that the second season is confirmed and will hopefully be airing ASAP.

The show follows an awkward teenage boy (Otis, played by Asa Butterfield) who's over-bearing, invasive Mother works as a sex therapist for people dealing with any kind of psychological sexual ailments. This doesn't make things easy for Otis, as his mother, Jean (Gillian Anderson), really tries to talk to him about all of his sexual experiences, or lack of.
Emma Mackey and Ncuti Gatwa also have a big part to play in this series, with Emma as the love interest as well as co-founder of the secret high-school sex clinic, and Ncuti as the hilariously dramatic, but loving BFF (who is personally my favourite character).

With such a massive success for the first season, creator Laurie Nunn is completely blown away by the response and the connection viewers have made with her characters.
“The reception to series one has been so exciting. Seeing how people across the world have connected to characters that began as ideas in my head is incredible,” said creator Laurie Nunn.
There hasn't been a date set for the second season, but it's definitely in the works.
