We all have a favourite, be it Homer, Bart, Chief Wiggum or Moe but one of the greatest stars of the Simpsons rarely gets a look in, and now he's gone!

Alf Clausen has been the music composer for the Simpsons for the last 27 years, and has contributed to some of the shows most memorable moments.

The Emmy award winning composer has scored over 560 episodes of the show, dating back to the very early days in the 1990-91 season.

Clausen told Variety that he got a call from producer Richard Sakai who told him the company was looking for “a different kind of music” and that he would no longer be scoring the popular animated sitcom.
