Zayn and Perrie's break up came as a shock to the world a few month ago. Having unceremoniously quit One Direction, it was mere weeks later that Zayn and Perrie announced their split. There were rumours of cheating, break ups by text and all sorts of anger.
But Zayn is setting the record straight. In an interview with Complex Magazine, Zayn talked about the focus of his debut solo album. He said that there is a major focus on falling out of love, suggesting that he fell out of love with Perrie. Which is just too sad. I mean, cheating is almost easier to deal with!
When asked how many songs are about heartbreak, Zayn said; "There's a good ratio of both. There's a lot of falling in love and a lot of falling out of love. It's probably 60/40, falling out of love."
He spoke about the inspiration you can draw from difficult times in your life; "I feel like you get creative with things when you can be honest. Whether that's positive or negative, it can work both ways. If you're in a really good place, you can write a really good, upbeat song. When you're in a s**t place you can write a downbeat fucking ballad! That's just the way it is. But I feel like you can draw good creative things from both."

We feel ya Zayn. The singer seems pretty smitten with his new gf Gigi Hadid, and Perrie is killing it on tour with Little Mix so maybe it's all for the best.
