The microwave has long been associated as an appliance to heat up food, but it can do so much more. They've had a bad rep – but the simple fact is, they can make a delicious, healthy meal in minutes.

Don't believe me? We've put it to the test and included breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert, so that you'll quickly forget about that soggy pizza.

Whether you're in a rush or just too lazy to make a proper meal here are some class meals you can make without a hob or oven.

 

1 Breakfast – Scrambled Eggs

These eggs taste just as good as there hob-related brothers. They take two minutes to make and are delicious to boot. According to eggcellent.org all you need to do is this.

  • BEAT eggs, milk, salt and pepper in microwave-safe bowl until blended.
  • MICROWAVE on HIGH 45 seconds; stir. MICROWAVE until eggs are almost set, 30 to 45 seconds longer. SERVE immediately.

2 Lunch – PIZZA QUESADILLA

This brilliant four ingredient pizza is tasty, cheap and quick. A twist on the classic pizza – all you need is 2 flour tortillas, cooked pepperoni, 3 tablespoons of tomato sauce and cheddar cheese. Get the recipe.

  • Using the spoon smother one side of the tortilla with sauce.
  • Sprinkle half of the pepperoni and cheese and place other tortilla on top.
  • Add remaining cheese and pepperoni and cook for 2 minutes.

3. Dinner – Salmon with sweet potato

Hands up if you love Omega-3! This made-in-a-flash meal is nourishing as well as delicious – partner with sweet potato and you've got a meal in no-time.

For the Salmon: Place the salmon on a plate, squeeze some lemon on top, along with some pepper and chilli flakes.

Put a bowl on top of the plate and microwave for 2 and a half minutes. Simples.

For the sweet potato: Chop them up, remove the skins and pop them in a microwave-proof bowl. Add a drop of water, cover them with a plate, microwave for seven minutes and BOOM – they're done.

4. Dessert – Chocolate Mug Cake

Who doesn't love chocolate? Finish off with this moreish recipe for dessert – all made in under two minutes. All you need is flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar, salt, milk, vegetable oil and nutella.

  • Mix up all the dry ingredients.
  • Add in the milk and vegetable oil into a large mug.
  • Add the nutella into the middle of the batter – let it sink in.
  • Place a kitchen towel on top and microwave for 1 minute.
