Ah the single life. It's a bed of roses really. The freedom to run and do what you please. Nobody to answer to and nobody to tell you what to do. This is the life.
THE REALITY
Right, so single life isn't all that perfect but there must be a reason why so little people find the love of their lives in college. We must ask ourselves: why don't these things work out? So many singletons converse together in college, so where is all the love? There are 7 reasons why certain students don't have a boyfriend or girlfriend in college. Don't feel bad, be grateful you don't have to deal with all the petty drama.
1) Hooking Up
Boys and girls who are regularly getting the action may not feel it is necessary to settle down. This resulting in that guy or girl you fancy, that you can't get that date with, having too much fun to care.

Once couples in college get this idea of power in their heads it's all they can think about. Who has it? How do they get it? Do people recognize which of us has it? This power thriving commitment can leave you feeling confident and willing to battle the world alone.
THE REALITY: If you have the power - fantastic for you. If you don't - run like the wind.

4) Caring Less Wins
Some students love to show they couldn't give a s**t even when in fact they do. They failed an exam: "I don't give a s**t." They have an essay due in two days time: "I couldn't care less". I hear you love your relationship: "No, I really don't." All of these are quite clearly lies. College is a dog eat dog world and whoever cares less wins. Moral of the story: don't have a relationship because nobody cares about anyone. Get it?
THE REALITY: A lot of people do care when they say they don't. Circle of life really.
5) Third Wheeling

Third wheeling can happen to anyone. One slip in your night out can lead you into this dangerous territory. If third wheeling occurs once, be cautious, this may be a slippery slope. Being in this position will have you seen as vulnerable and no guy will approach a couple with a random girl. Because no matter how amazing you are, they will be stuck with you from there on out.
THE REALITY: Third wheelers never seem cool or carefree. They seem rather desperate and confined.
6) Alcohol
Alcohol can bring many relationships together but also be the sole reason you're not in one. I like a drink, or ten, on a night out and I don't care who objects or says I'm too drunk. And, yes, I am single. May I say much more.

THE REALITY: A sloppy guy or girl will not be taken seriously. Or else used as a shift and ditch tactic. This we can't be having now can we?
7) Mentally Dating Celebrities
If you permanently fantasize about a celebrity, so what, we all do it. But there is a fine line between wishing you could date them to genuinely believing one day you will meet them and fall in love. I'm not saying it is never going to happen (it's never going to happen), but hiring your standards to suit that of Mila Kunis or Ryan Gosling doesn't seem fair now does it?
THE REALITY: IT'S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. Get a grip.
