An Open Letter To Garth Brooks & The Croke Park Residents...

Okay, so the whole Garth Brooks v Croke Park residents debate has snowballed into a ridiculous event now, resembling something like the "drama" from The Hills. The argument has turned into an absolute joke, with both sides coming out of the shower still covered in sh*t.

It's like a schoolteacher trying to divide 5 lollipops between 2 children. Neither is happy with getting 2 lollipops while the other gets 3. And as Garth Brooks put it this week: "It's 5 Lollipops or None!"

How greedy can you be? I mean seriously. Brooks is trying to spin the argument as him giving something back to his fans, but the obvious truth is that he just wants to increase his earnings in Croke Park by another 40%. Although the debate is petty to say the least, Brooks clearly doesn't give a sh*t about his fans, otherwise he wouldn't have pulled out and cancelled on the other 240,000 fans.

And now Taoiseach Enda Kenny is getting involved and even President Barack Obama's name is being thrown around? Come on, this has gone on long enough and it seems inevitable what the outcome will be.

I'm sorry but I thought we lived in a democracy? The weight of the 400,000 should CLEARLY outweigh the weight of the 337. And that's not even considering the obvious economic benefits that the concerts would provide to the country.

My advice to Garth Brooks: If you pull the rabbit out of the hat and get 5 shows, take it and shut up. If not, do the 3 shows and don't be greedy. You're still pocketing an astronomical amount of money either way.

My advice to the Croke Park residents: I understand your pain, but think of the bigger picture. If it's between 5 shows or none, allow the 5. Exactly HOW much "grief" would you really have to endure for an extra 2 nights? Stop complaining and let the people who paid good money for Garth Brooks see him play.
