The shortlists for Ireland's best carvery hotel and carvery pub have been revealed! The nominees for this year's The Great Carvery 2017 were announced today, with pubs being nominated by province.

From tomorrow until the 1st of September, the judging team of The Great Carvery 2017 will dine anonymously in all 24 of the shortlisted venues. In September, provincial winners will be chosen and from this pool, they will crown the national winner. Winners will be announced on Facebook in October.

How will they judge the carvery?

The Great Carvery 2017 will first and foremost judge the quality and the flavour of the meat, vegetables and gravy. Venues will also be examined on the choice available and value for money, and customer service and cleanliness of the venue and the staff.
