When I was younger, I would never leave the house without a bra on. What if I nip out? What would the other girls think during gym if they noticed I wasn't wearing a bra? However, now that I'm older, I have started to appreciate the perks of not wearing one. In fact, I've started to wonder if it's better to stop wearing a bra altogether. So, here we have it- a definitive list of the pros and cons of not wearing a bra. It's time to rethink this whole bra situation, ladies.
Pros:
1. It takes less time to get dressed in the morning.
Have you ever noticed how time-consuming it is to get dressed in the morning when you choose to wear a bra? First, you have to pick the right one. Will you be doing something active today? Will you need a strapless bra? Can you wear something comfy or do you need something sexy? Then, you have to actually put it on. Hopefully, if you choose to wear a sports bra, you haven't put your hair in a ponytail yet. Otherwise, you might mess it up. Then you may find that a wire is cutting into you, so you'll have to change...
In all actuality, this process only takes up a few minutes. But still. It uses up time nonetheless. One day, when you wake up late for class, decide to go braless. Then you will notice how much time you save.
2. No visible bra straps

When I was in middle school, visible bra straps were sooo risque. While they aren't taboo anymore, a neon pink bra strap really can really throw off say, a super elegant, chic style. (You could change, but refer to point #1.)
3. Being able to slip straight into pajamas at the end of the day without having to fuss with a bra
Slip in, slip out. 'nuff said.
4. Not having to deal with getting it off during sexy time
On a similar note, it's nice not having to deal with taking off a bra when you and a very attractive man are about to partake in adult activities.

5. No underboob sweat
At any given moment, you may find yourself in a hot room. Perhaps you need to run and catch a bus. No matter the activity, sweat won't accumulate under your boobs if you don't have a bra to keep it there.
6. No struggle to get your bra off after a sweaty day/hot shower
Bras cling to your body. It is immensely irritating to fight this when you're hot and ready to cool down.

7. If you don't wear bras, you don't have to buy them.
Bras are so expensive! Do you know what I can do with the money it takes to purchase a nice quality bra? I'll tell you. A LOT. Instead of spending money on a bra I could buy six alcoholic drinks, a tank of gas, three months of Netflix, or half a week of groceries. In the grand scheme of things, a bra is not high on my priorities list.
8. Having the satisfaction of wearing matching bras and underwear
We twenty-something women don't have our shit together, but matching bras and underwear can make us feel like we're halfway there.

Cons:
1. Nipping out

The older you get, the more you realize that nipping out isn't that big of a deal. It's just your body doing its thing. But let's be real. It is noticeable, and, depending on the situation, that isn't ideal. Think job interview. You're trying to showcase your skills and qualifications- not your assets.
2. Not getting to feel the satisfying feeling of taking off your bra at the end of the day
This isn't a huge deal, but taking off your bra at the end of the day is ridiculously satisfying. You can't experience that "awwww" moment if you haven't been suffering all day.
3. Having smaller boobs
I know that false advertising is frowned upon, but sometimes it's nice to wear a bra that gives you movie star boobs. A little extra padding has the ability to give us a lot of extra confidence.

4. Having saggy boobs
In 2014, Halle Berry announced that the key to staying perky in the boob department is to ALWAYS wear a bra- even to bed. And since the actress is almost 50 and still looking damn fine, I think we should believe her.
5. Having jiggly boobs
Anyone who has ever tried to do something active braless has probably noticed the fact that they naturally create a makeshift bra with their arms. We may not care if our girls bounce around but it's more comfortable for them to stay in one place.

6. Not having any support
Many women- large-chested women in particular- may need support to feel comfortable. In some cases, they may have severe back pain because of their breasts. Shout out to the women in places like Russia and Sweden where the average cup size is a +D! May the odds (of not having back pain) be ever in your favour.
7. One wrong move and your boobs are out for the world to see
Low cut shirts and strapless dresses are a) the pieces of clothing you are most likely not going to wear a bra with and b) the pieces of clothing that can most likely end in catastrophe. Good thing they make boob tape, amirite?
So, what's your take on the bra debate? Let me know!
