After yesterday’s English paper 1 drama, many students are still feeling on edge but there’s no time for a chill pill because English Paper 2 is next up.
This is the more serious of the two, with all your studied texts, films, plays and comparatives coming up and expected to be answered in just over 3 hours. Whether you have the most analysed predictions in the world or not, the Leaving Cert will always find a way to surprise you and in English Paper 2, you don’t want to be surprised.
Just before the exam people had a gas time making jokes about what may or may not come up.

Although it seems this time round the English paper was much better than expected and most of the predictions came through for the LC students! Hallelujah!
Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin, Montague and Larkin were the favourites predicted to come up and they sure did. Most students are delighted with the questions that came up and they’re are praising the SEC for giving such a lovely paper 2, unlike the paper 1 exam.
Hopefully English paper 2 went okay. Larkin appeared to be the best option for poetry though both Montague and Eilean weren't too bad. Sisters in Lear was good as was the cultural context (either part)

Only reason I left my English paper 2 LC exam 20 mins early because I was starving. Also praise be for literally all the poets I've studied to come up, although poor swans.

Seems English paper 2 has cancelled out the drama from English paper 1.
Praise the exam Gods and thank your Nan for lighting that candle. You'll never have to recite King Lear for the rest of your life, congrats!
