If you are a fan of the twin ideas of 'purchasing and consuming wraps in McDonald's' and 'not consuming the flesh of animals' then oh boy have we got some news for you. McDonald's have launched a vegetarian Happy Meal and a vegetarian wrap to sate your twin and, now, mutually compatible interests.
I will now provide you with the descriptions of each of these wraps, that have been provided by McDonald's themselves. The new spicy vegetarian wrap consists of a toasted tortilla wrap, with two red pesto goujons, spicy relish, tomato, lettuce and red onion. Dietary-wise, this whole situation will ply you with a very reasonable 364 calories.
Discussion will now move to the Happy Meal veggie wrap. Allow me to take you through a brief tour of their new Happy Meal wrap. For these purposes I would like you to imagine we are encased in a giant wrap - which is lightly toasted. The giant, crisped object that is currently crushing us both is a single red pesto goujon. You may also notice that we are surrounded by lettuce and ketchup. All in all, we are surrounded by 209 calories worth of wrap.
Both of these new menu items are dairy free and vegan, however it seems McDonald's are reticent to label them as vegan as, according to McDonald's, "the tortilla wraps pass through the same toaster as our buns, which do contain milk."

It is great to see mainstream fast-food outlets responding pro-actively to the increased demand for vegetarian and vegan options. If they are able to come up with some vegetarian alternative to the McNugget then truly we will be living in the future.
