The Brit Awards were last night and Adele killed it. She won four awards, including Best Album and Best Female Artist. But rather than just go up and make the usual speech, Adele used the moment of rapt attention to ensure the world knew that she supported Kesha.
Kesha has received an outpouring of support from musicians and producers in her fight to get out of her contract with Dr. Luke, who she alleges abused and raped her for years. Sony have denied her request in court, meaning that Kesha will have to record six more albums working with her rapist, something unthinkable to absolutely anyone.
The fact that Adele took such a public stance is fantastic and just another in a string of people who are using their platform to speak out against abuse.
