Do you see yourself as a generous person? Well, how does your county make the cut?
Kerry has been named as the most generous county in Ireland, according to ActionAid. The charity which aims to tackle poverty, announced that based on collection records Kerry has donated more than any other county.
Kerry folk have sponsored a child in Africa more than any country in Ireland and there have been over 700 sponsored children from Kerry residents since 1983. However, the rest of Ireland have also played their part and sponsored over 20,000 children over the last 20 years.
This is an amazing feat in itself and we should be proud that our small country has made such a difference in children's lives.
The top ten most generous counties in Ireland are in this order:
- Kerry
- Limerick
- Dublin
- Wicklow
- Longford
- Clare
- Kildare
- Westmeath
- Sligo
- Louth
