Banana bread is one of the most delicious desserts/sweet treats of all time. It's moist, sweet and literally so easy to make. However, one of the only downsides is that it's packed full of refined sugar that isn't that good for you.
That's where we come in. This recipe is a new take on banana bread, with all the delicious flavour and sweetness, minus the sugar. We guarantee you'll eat it all in one go so try and have some sort of self-control.
Ingredients:
- coconut oil for greasing
- 140g wholemeal flour
- 100g self-raising flour
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 300g mashed banana from overripe black bananas
- 4 tbsp agave syrup
- 3 large egg, beaten
- 150ml pot low-fat natural yogurt
- 25g chopped walnuts

- Heat oven to 160C/140C fan/gas
- Grease and line a loaf tin with baking parchment. Mix the flours, bicarb, baking powder and a pinch of salt in a large bowl.
- Mix the bananas, syrup, eggs and yogurt. Quickly stir into dry ingredients, then gently scrape into the tin and scatter with nuts.
- Bake for 1 hr 10 mins-1 hr 15 mins or until a skewer comes out clean.
- Cool in tin on a wire rack and enjoy!
