So you've decided to join a gym, good on you.
As a gym newbie you probably have no idea what the hell is going on, are intimidated as hell by everyone and think of yourself as a weakling. 1. Ask someone who works there to show you around
Don't just wander around aimlessly, ask someone to show you around, ya dope. You'll get to know where everything is and you won't look like a headless chicken.

This is a great idea if you've no idea where to even start. You'll learn how to do certain exercises and feel 100% more confident hitting the gym by yourself the next time.
3. Bring a friend who know's what they're doing
If you don't have the funds, bring a friend who knows what they're doing to show you what to do. It's cheaper and you'll feel less awks.
4. Or bring an equally unfit friend and train together

Having someone else in the same boat will help you fell at ease and will make the whole experience less scary.
5. Do weight training
Don't just be a cardio bunny, lift some weights. This will actually create a more sculpted look and will help you tone up even quicker.
6. Form is more important than weight

Don't just head on over to the squat rack on your first ever gym session. Start on a low weight and make sure your form is correct before you head to heavy weights. This will prevent injury and make your exercise more effective.
7. Mix it up and join a class
This is a great place to start as you're with a group so no one will be looking at you if you feel self-conscious working out on your lonesome. You'll also get great tips on how to have correct form and have a lovely trainer shouting at you so you'll more than likely push yourself.

Don't just run on the treadmill for 40 minutes. Try HIIT style workouts, boxing, circuit training and see what suits you and what you enjoy the most.
9. Keep at it
You've probably paid a decent amount of money to join the gym so keep at it. The only way to see results is consistency so work it gurl.
