It's a bank holiday Monday, it's still technically Christmas, and everyone is still full of that little bit of divilment and not ready to deal with the mundanity of the real world just yet.
So I thought it as good a time as any to remember one of my favourite quotes from one of Ireland's greatest writers. I'm not actually quite sure where it originated but I read in a brilliant little book called 'Irish Wit', which was compiled by Des MacHale.

And sure while I have you, I've another fun fact about Kavanagh. When he was a child his family was the only house in the townland which had a clock so every day neighbours would call in just to check the time.
Stick that nugget in your next English essay!
