Water restrictions are already in place in several other parts of the country. They announced that Dublin water-use has massively increased over the last 24 hours, by some 60 million litres. This extra usage is due to a mixture of legitimate use and inevitable leaks caused by Storm Emma.
As such, these high levels of water use are patently unsustainable, leading to the decision to implement rationing.
