It's no secret that students often live in kips but this story takes it to a whole new level. According to an investigation by The College View, DCU St Patrick's campus students are living in squalid conditions. Warning, some of the below images are stomach-churning.
The student publication recorded evidence in House 3 of St Pat's accom and what they found was fecked: broken air vents, four fridges per 60 students, unflushable toilets and more:
What's even more outrageous is how much these mugs charge for this dump:€4572, a 38% increase on last year's rent of €3300.
The kitchens had no cupboard doors, broken tiles, mould and suffers from overcrowding every night of the week.
But go into the bathroom and it's vomit-worthy. There's two toilets and showers per 8 students but with a strong smell of sewage in some stalls, broken seats and overflowing bowls, half are unusable.

“Not only is there not enough equipment but what’s there does not work. Eight people per floor, sharing two toilets and two showers is horrendous,” resident and first year St. Pat’s student Dylan Raleigh said.
“When there’s two toilets between eight people there’s always a block. If there’s two people that need the toilet you’ll either have to run up the stairs or run down the stairs to get to one,” fellow student Diarmuid Byrne said.
Other issues include broken windows that let in freezing air and a faulty key card system.
Apparently despite a rental increase, there were only two upgrades in the accommodation: new beds and shelves.
Must have their eyes painted on if they can't see the disgraceful conditions paying students are living in. Here's hoping this shit gets fixed quickly.
