Penneys has cornered the market when it comes to affordable clothing on the high street but that might be about to change. Dealz, the UK discount retailer with 61 stores in Ireland, will next month open its Pep&Co clothing chain across the country.
Pep&Co, the name of the range that will be included in Dealz, will be offering jeans for as little as €6.50 and t-shirts from €3.50. From February 23rd the first 10 Pepe&Co outlets will open here and will be found within existing stores, such as their flagshop shop in Blanchardstown.
Throughout the summer a further 20 outlets will open and is expected to bring 120 jobs. Dealz will be knocking through storeroom walls to make space for the new collection. Dealz will be coming for their competition and warned its competitors that customers “will be able to directly compare the quality and price” of their respective products.
As well as Blanchardstown, the first Dealz stores to upgrade to the Pep&Co collection include:
- Dundrum
- Kilkenny
- Finglas
- Gorey
- Naas
- Newbridge
- Castlebar

As of yet, there are no plans to open stand-alone shops but the range is expected to take up “20 to 25 per cent” of the floor space of each Dealz store.
Pep&Co will stock a full range of men’s, women’s and children’s discount clothing with items for young children priced between €1 and €2.
