We've heard some truly horrible news this morning: Derry City captain Ryan McBride has sadly passed away.
McBride led his team to a 4-0 win over Drogheda on Saturday, but was found dead later that evening in his home. The cause of death is still unknown, and at just 27 years old, this is truly a shock to all.
His team, Derry City FC confirmed the shocking and sad news late yesterday evening:

McBride lived in close proximity to the Brandywell and his passing with come as a massive blow to the local community, many of whom gathered to offer their support outside his home on Sunday night.
Tributes have been flowing in from around the country, with President Michael D Higgins offering his condolences:
