Lidl are now selling a 'gin & tonic' flavoured chocolate bar. On their website the supplier of the product, Skelligs chocolate, explains how they captured the essence of the drink in their bar:
The fresh lively flavours of this sophisticated tipple are recreated by adding crushed juniper berries and lime zest to our rich dark chocolate. Perfectly acceptable at any time of day. Bottoms Up!
It's a good thing that there is no alcoholic content in the product because I can imagine that a night spent binging on alcohol based chocolate would end in disaster.
The chocolate bars will cost you just €1.99 each and are available from Irish Lidl Stores from September 11th.

In other gin related news, a weekly event giving discounts on the cocktail has started this week in Dublin. 'Thirsty Thursdays' which is run by Farrier and Draper on South William Street will be selling gin & tonic for €6 on Thursdays. The promotion kicks off at 5pm and runs until late.
