British MP Bernard Jenkin was speaking on Sky News yesterday when he made some unbelievably stupid comments about Northern Ireland and Irish politics.
First of all (and we can perhaps forgive him for this one,) he called Enda Kenny, Enda Kelly. We'll let that one slide, but then amazingly he claimed that both Enda Kelly and Bertie Aherne were both Taoiseach of Northern Ireland. The mind boggles.
I mean how dense do you have to be to make that sort of mistake? I think we're all going to have to chip in and order the Tory MP 'Irish Politics For Dummies' this Christmas.
Here's a clip of Jenkin's infamous appearance:

Between this and Briton's attempts to draw the border this really hasn't been a great week for Anglo-Hiberno relations.

Here is the dumbfounded twitter reaction to the MP's slip up:
It’s is shocking, that they are actually that ignorant and poorly briefed.

Did this idiot just say Bertie Aherns name and then call Enda Kelly the prime minister of Northern Ireland????? Is this the best that the British can put out on national telly, Dear god the ignorance of the British on tv over the last week has been shocking. Utterly...
