Yes, it's 20 years since JK Rowling released Harry Potter on to the world and changed everything.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was practically impossible for Rowling to get published. It took her 12 times before a publisher agreed to publish the novel in 1997. The first book spawned 6 others and 8 blockbuster films.
The book has been published in over 67 languages. Religious media outlets reviewed the book as a dangerous ode to magic and witchcraft which is 'against' Christian teaching. One Christian reviewer wrote:
Regardless of how magic is portrayed in the series, we need to remember that witchcraft in real life can and does lead to death—the forever and ever kind.
The Harry Potter theme park, The Cursed Child Play, the Harry Potter studios in London and the installment to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them means the magical world of HP won't be disappearing anytime soon.
