Paschal Donohoe is currently doing what he does best, and providing a comprehensive and despairingly long-winded breakdown of fiscal policy. He is in the Dáil waxing lyrical about the budget for 2019.
Among the many other aspects of the budget which are set to impact students, a summary of which can be read here, Paschal Donohoe has announced that the minimum wage is set to be raised to €9.80 per hour - an unexpected increase in this year's budget.
While this represents a small 25c increase on the current level of €9.55, any increase comes as welcomes news - particularly given the spiraling costs of rent and living throughout the country, but particularly in the cities.
