Thousands of US visas could soon be available to Irish citizens looking to live and work stateside.
Last night, the US House of Representatives passed the 'E3 Bill' which would allow Irish citizens to participate in the E3 Visa Programme. Approximately 5,000 visas could be available to graduates and families looking to work in the US.
To acquire an E3 visa the candidate must hold a bachelors or higher degree in a specific specialty. The renewable visa is for two years and also allows spouse and children to live with the candidate.
The visa is easier and less costly to obtain than traditional US visa's as it costs $270. Currently, the visa is only available to Australian citizens. It will now go before the US Senate before it can be signed into law.
