Working out will be a lot harder without this "can't live without" item thanks to Dublin City University.
DCU's gym is decked out with over 100 pieces of work out equipment, a swimming pool, and steam room and is popular with students on campus. Now, all you gym bunnies will have to keep the phones at bay and tucked away as the gym has outright banned phones on the premises.
We're expecting strong reactions from students who'll have to keep their selfies at bay. The ban seems to be particularly targeted towards changing rooms and the pool area, a move to stop unsolicited photographs and to maintain other gym users privacy.
The gym is focusing on the ban by maintaining students keep their gym game strong by avoiding the distractions of a mobile phone. That's all well and good DCU, but how am I supposed to listen to Spotify? It looks like we'll have to have a root and try and find that iPod.
It looks like the Twitter universe hates gym users who whip out their phones during a session at the gym:

They should ban mobile phones from every gym! ..So no one can take sneaky pics of others or constantly take selfies to boost their ego!

Should be an automatic ban for people that sit on the bench on their phones at the gym

@GoodLifeFitness can you ban phones on the gym floor? I'm tired of people texting and taking pictures when people are waiting for machines
