Today 100s gathered to Manchester's St. Anne's Square for a vigil to remember the 22 people who died in Monday's terrorist attack. After a minute's silence for the victims, this video shows the Manchester crowd singing a singsong of Oasis' 'Don't Look Back In Anger,' one of the most famous bands to come out of the city.
At 11am, traffic came to a standstill as the city paused for the memorial event. Lydia Bernsmeier-Rullow was the woman who started the sing-along. She spoke to The Guardian after the vigil saying,"we can’t be looking backwards to what happened, we have to look forward to the future". She explained, "we all joined together and we’re all going to get on with it because that’s what Manchester does".
The moment was captured by a Twitter user and truly represents the fighting spirit held by the people of Manchester.
