A police officer has suffered life-threatening injuries following a shooting in Munich on Tuesday morning.
The female officer was shot in the head after a commuter stole her handgun during a police check at Unterfoehring subway station, Munich police spokesman Michael Riehlein said.
Two bystanders were also shot and injured in the incident, while the suspect was seriously injured by gunfire.

“There was one suspect and we’ve got him,” Marcus da Gloria Martins, another Munich Police spokesperson, told reporters at the scene.
Authorities have said it is not being considered a terrorist incident.

“The sole male perpetrator was motivated by personal reasons" and not political or religious reasons, da Gloria Martins said.
Following reports of an altercation among passengers on a train, police had been called to the subway station. Upon arrival, the suspect attempted to push the officers onto the tracks, da Gloria Martins said.
The suspect then managed to grab the female officer’s gun and fired several shots before he was shot himself and taken into custody.
