Anyone who's ever been on a J1 has a wild experience or story to tell on their J1 but this is up there with the best.
An Irish student, Darragh O'Rourke, was enjoying his J1 in LA when he decided he had to get into Post Malone's gig. With over a billion listens on Spotify, Malone is one of the biggest hip-hop acts of the last five years.
After finding a backstage pass for staff on the ground, Darragh strolled passed security at the LA gig. Confronted by a member of staff, Darragh made up a baloney story and was granted access to the gig - he said he was checking the echoes of the sound.
After meeting the singer and getting his friend back stage, Malone happily sang 'The Auld Triangle' when he discovers Darragh's Irish. A friend of the singers can be heard asking Malone "how do you know this Irish sh*t?". In fairness, he doesn't skip a beat:

Speaking to Beat102103.com, the student shared his shock at the whole experience and how genuine the singer is:
I’m not going to lie, it was pretty beaten up, so I put some chewing gum on my wrist to keep it together. I took out my phone where I had this imaginary conversation about experiencing sound issues at the theatre. I was like ‘Ahh yeah. There’s an echo in the building’. I was just winging it. After a while on my phone, I told the security guard that it was all sorted. I flashed the wristband, but she asked for my credentials, which I obviously didn’t have. She then says ‘hang on, I’ll get my manager’. So the security manager comes along, flashes at the wristband with his torch, and lets me through. I couldn’t contain myself. Everything you’d expect in a rapper’s dressing room was there, without going into too much detail...As we were VIPs, we got an invite to go to the gig afterparty. We were chatting to Post Malone’s manager and as you do when you’re in the US, we told her that we’re Irish. So the manager calls Post Malone over and tells him that we’ve come all the way from Ireland. Then, out of nowhere, he just bursts into The Auld Triangle.
If you're jealous, don't be. The rapper will play Longitude on Saturday, 6th July, and if you don't have a ticket then maybe you can recreate your own Post Malone moment.
