Sam Allardyce Considering Appearing In I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here

Before the beginning of any reality television show featuring what we can, for the sake of argument, call celebrities, there is always a rake of rumours regarding who will appear on the show. These will usually spread from the drably believable; Danny Dyer in the Big Brother House, all the way to the delightful incongruous; Dalai Lama taking part in a celebrity special of Robot Wars. In amongst all this there will be rumours with a grain of truth behind them, that you wish more than anything will come to fruition.

Sam Allardyce appearing in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here is one such example. The former England manager, having finished resting on the laurels of his 100% win record with the national team, is reportedly being courted by the producers of I'm A Celebrity to head into a jungle for our amusement. They have apparently offered Big Sam a six-figure sum to come on the 17th series of the show.

An admittedly unnamed source, speaking to the bastion of repute that is The Sun, said of the producers desire to have him on the show:

They are absolutely sure he would be a fantastic character to have in the jungle. He would be terrific, as you can imagine.

His family are fully aware of the situation but it’s down to Sam at the end of the day and he most definitely hasn’t ruled anything out. He loves a challenge, loves a laugh and good company so joining the 17th series ticks all the boxes.

Sam Allardyce's most recent job as a manager was with Crystal Palace last year, where he resigned from his post on 23rd May. Having ruled out taking any other jobs managing clubs, he is a man with time on his hands and, when it comes to football managers you'd bet would cope well in the wild, his name would definitely be up there. It's difficult to imagine Arsene Wenger's refined manners handling any situation where he doesn't have a puffy jacket handy to make a hames of zipping up. Sam Allardyce though, has always seemed like a man who'd relish ripping a boa constrictor in half with his large beefy hands.

If this comes off, I expect a lot of people may be tuning into I'm A Celebrity for the very first time.
