He's been in the thick of some of Corrie's most dramatic stories during the last few years - but now Shayne Ward is set to bow out of his role as Aidan Connor in an explosive exit.
The former singer will depart our screens in spring 2018, and no doubt there's still plenty of twists and turns to come for his cheating character who first stepped onto the Street three years ago.
While his exit storyline is being kept under wraps, an inside source told The Sun:
“Everybody wants Shayne leaving to be a huge part of the show next year. Bosses are working on it at the moment and have something really explosive planned for the character.

Aidan Connor who was introduced to the show as a relation of popular characters Michelle and Carla, proved to be a huge hit with viewers, with fans taking to Twitter to praise Ward's debut. The former X Factor star even bagged the Best Newcomer prize at the National Television Awards for his portrayal of the Factory boss.
Recently, his character took centre stage in a big autumn storyline which saw his cheating ways come to a head on his wedding day.
Ward will leave in May next year when his current contract expires.
