The Difference If Only 18-25 Year-Olds' Votes Counted In The US Election Is Staggering

While many are calling Donald Trump's 279 to 228 electoral votes a 'landslide' victory in this week's US Presidential election, if you really want to see what a landslide is then take a look at what the results would have been if only the votes from those aged 18-25 had counted.

Eliza Byard, Executive Director of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, tweeted this photo last night, showing how Clinton would have won by a crazy 504 to 23 electoral votes.

There are a couple of caveats to this however. Firstly, when we look at the voting pattern of those aged 18-29, Clinton received just 55% of the vote, compared to the 60% Barack Obama received from the same age group in 2012.

There's also the fact that as people grow older many naturally straight to lean more towards the right. However, with that being said, the vote among those under 26 still shows a huge difference in opinion between the youngest generation of voters and their older counterparts.
