So you've decided to go on Erasmus – fair play to you. Well, here's how to survive studying abroad.
Once you've made the big decision you may wonder how the hell you're going to get through it? It sounded like a great idea at the time. A year-long holiday? Living alone, buying cups and cute little plates and shit from Ikea? Yeah, it doesn't always turn out that way.
Here's how to survive your time abroad and transform into a beautiful, cultured butterfly.
Say yes to EVERYTHING
Say yes to everything. Every party, every event. Even if you think you would absolutely hate it. Do it. Erasmus is all about trying new things and new experiences.
Embrace the language
Try and learn the language. It'll help with general communication and not to mention will look great on a CV – si si.

Travel to other countries
If you're studying abroad in mainland Europe – travel! It's so cheap to get a bus to a neighbouring country, so why wouldn't you make the most of it.
Go out and socialise
This is such an easy way to make friends. If someone invites you on a night out - say yes, show them your Irish charm and get your groove on.
Step outside of your comfort zone
Join clubs and societies, say yes to that day trip, go on that night out. This is the only way you'll make the most of your time abroad and I guarantee you'll have some amazing experiences.
