Ryanair's second free bag allowance on board their flights might be axed.
The reasoning behind this is that passengers are packing too much into their carry-on bags. According to the Irish Independent, Michael O'Leary has been concerned over their cabin policy,
We're struggling at the boarding gate because far too many passengers are turning up with half the contents of their homes now instead of one normal-sized bag and one small bag. Some passengers are also arriving at boarding gates with three bags.
If it doesn't stop, we're going to have to change that policy.
He said this is causing a problem with stalling the plane turn-around which they aim to be 25 minutes. Ryanair only started letting people bring on a second carry-on bag as part of their 'Always Getting Better' campaign in 2013. They aimed to have the bag the size of a small handbag.
However, as passengers have been ignoring the current guidelines, this could result in Ryanair changing their policy. The airline are planning to charge a fee of €50 for cabin baggage over the allowance.
