Celebrating the Shtyle of the Royal Mammy

Kate Middleton brings the term “some woman for one woman” to a whole new level. Just hours after popping out the #RoyalBaby, her hairdresser  was summoned queuing speculation that the first pictures of herself and his miniature highness were imminent. As the world waited in anticipation, there’s no doubting that fashionistas and baby-phobics alike were inappropriately concerned with one thing – what Kate was wearing.  Though most new mothers would be afforded the benefit of leaving hospital in a GAA jersey and a tracksuit, the strong paparazzi presence outside of St.Marys Hospital suggested  it was  likely that Kate would ditch the her UGGs in favour of something a little more chic. And she did. In a beautiful blue polka dot Jenny Peckham dress, reminiscent of the spotted number that Diana wore, emerging from the very same hospital with William all those years ago.

It’s exhausting for most of us to just  imagine the pressure of looking HRH-tastic  on a regular day, without the dress limitations imposed by royal protocol or the whole.. ‘having just given birth to the future King of England’ thing.. so without further ado, I’d like to raise my nude LK Bennett inspired heels to the duchess of Cambridge, take a look back at her most stylish moments,  and  finally to reiterate.. you’re some woman for one woman!

1. The engagement dress

Kate wore a navy-blue wrap dress by Issa  on announcing her engagement to His Royal Cuteness in 2010. Beautifully simple and sophisticated, the dress matched her engagement ring previously worn by Princess Diana. Rumour has it the designers who created the dress narrowly missed bankruptcy in their attempt to mass produce copies of the dress to facilitate the phenomenal demand for it by women throughout the world.

2. Probably the most beautiful wedding dress in the world

You know that body-con/skater dress with the lace overlay, that you almost certainly have in some form or another hanging in your wardrobe.. or curled up on your floordrobe? You can thank K-Middy  and her friend Sarah Burton at McQueen for inspiring  the popular party-wear staple. It’s debut followed quickly after she married her Prince in 2011

3. Polka-Dots by Topshop

One of the most prominent reasons cited for Kates ( Catherines! – sorry lads, just incase the queen is reading..)popularity, is her loyalty to high-street brands. The Duchess donned dots when she was six months pregnant , promoting the dress to sell out within hours of her being pictured in it.

 4. The Reiss Camel Shola Bandage Dress

Once again Ka..terine scored super fashion points by sporting this elegant number by Reiss for a meeting with the Obama’s.  Though obviously thrilled with the exposure, the poor petals at Reiss online were left out of action as the website crashed numerous times with traffic seeking to buy the dress before it sold out, which it did, in under two hours.

Even with the worlds camera lense in her face, Kate still manages to knock it out of the park, every time, with perfect hair! Phew!

Massive congratulations and xoxo’s to herself, William and the Royal baba!  Cute. As. A.Button!!
