There’s nothing like a bit of mystery in dance music and that’s why CT have a certain soft spot for the masked German DJ that is Claptone. The Berlin based producer and DJ is one of the most renowned new talents to have emerged over the past two years and now enjoys pride of place as the main man at house music label and artist stronghold Exploited.
He plays a deep, groove infused brand of house that often borders on the commercial but always remains incredibly addictive. His short career has already seen a large bunch of successes. The likes of Cream and Another Night gave him a strong base to push off from initially but it was gems like ‘Wrong’ and ‘Another Night’ which allowed him cement his name as a force to be reckoned with. More recently remixes for the likes of George Morel and The Magician have marked him out as a man in demand. His summer and the past 12 months have been spent extensively touring, building his fanbase and sharing his music.
His visit to Dublin this Friday night at The Button Factory is a welcome one following his heroics last Paddy’s Day where he played alongside Tube & Berger to a soldout crowd in Lost Society. It also coincides with the launch of Snowbombing 2014 the popular ski festival in Austria who have partnered with JACK for the forthcoming year. All in all it looks set to be a big one!
