Dublin’s been spoilt for choice for dance gigs in recent months. This Friday is a prime example with both Kerri Chandler and Claptone making appearances, however it is the might of Toolroom behemoth Mark Knight which stands clear above the rest. His long awaited Dublin return at Residence in The Village looks set to be one of the standout nights of 2013 with anticipating levels in the capital rising by the day.
Head of prominent UK based label Toolroom Records, the Englishman has a stellar reputation this side of the Irish Sea for upfront house, tech house and techno. His label has produced some of the most seminal dance music of the last ten years and it just so happens that this year marks their tenth in existence. A number of amazing remixes have come from the likes of Hardwell, Armin Van Buureen and many more to celebrate the massive occasion, tracks like Man With The Red Face, Downpipe and At Night have all received the remix treatment with approval from the main man himself.

His own sound has seen quite a change in recent times with a greater push towards the underground. Deeper and much technier he has shed all commercial aspects and is now an altogether more underground act. It’s interesting to note this seems to be in line with the label’s recent releases with the likes of new talents Bontan and Weiss receiving massive exposure for their deep productions. With the popularity of that deeper sound in Dublin recently it seems there is no better time for the groundbreaking producer to return to one of his most favored spots.
