Australian TV is one of the world's greatest mysteries. It's a thing of wonder, and even Australians don't understand what is happening when they turn on the tube. One prime example of terrible Australian TV is the below video which shows what is most likely the most awkward and terrible minute of television on Earth.
The Loop, a music video show aired at god-knows-when on some network Down Under, had a very special competition on New Year's Eve: they invited some of their biggest fans to count down to 2017 with hosts Scott Tweedie and Olivia Phyland. This would all be grand except for the fact not one single person in the huddled group wanted to be there, despite Scott Tweedie being extra fiiine. Even his perfect face couldn't convince yer man with the pompoms to crack a smile.
Watch the awkwardness unfold. Second hand embarrassment alert:
I'm crying. There's so much gold here including the girl in the front with the striped shirt:

This woman who was so done:
Scott Tweedie said that it was ~definitely~ deliberate and they prerecorded it. He said that they wanted to go up against the fireworks on other channels. Yeah OK ;)
