Lidl, one of Ireland's most popular grocery stores, could be about to change the game by making food shopping recreational.
According to RSVP Live, Lidl has confirmed they will open a hospitality unit on a new site in Tallaght.
Formerly the site of the Belgrade Inn, the company will own four retail units, adaptable to a variety of commercial uses, with one spot being allocated to customers looking for somewhere to sit back and relax after standing in line with a trolley.
Permission for a pub to be built was included in the planning permission provided to Lidl by South Dublin County Council and Lidl confirmed to RSVP Live that they are looking into the option of building a pub on the site.

If Lidl decides to serve alcohol it'll be the first Lidl pub in the world. We're not sure if Lidl will stock their own brands in the pub and if they'll sell hot food but we'll keep you updated.
